Measuring a Room for Furniture: A Step-by-Step Guide

Before you buy furniture for your home, it's important to make sure it will fit in the space you have. Here's a simple guide to help you measure your rooms accurately:

1. Measure the Length and Width of the Room: Measure the longest and widest points of the room, including any alcoves or projections. Write down these measurements and the height of the room.
2. Consider Doorways and Passages: Take into account any doorways, passages or other areas the furniture will need to fit through when it's delivered. Measure the height, width and depth of these spaces. This is important as the heights and widths of our sofas differ in size, especially our Estelle which is to tall for most standard doorways. 
3. Measure the Windows: If your placing furniture near a window, measure the height and width of the window.
4. Measure the Space for Each Piece of Furniture: Measure the space where you plan to place each piece of furniture. Consider the placement of electrical outlets, radiators, and other obstacles. Write down the height, width and depth of the space you have for each piece.
5. Measure Furniture: Take the measurements of the furniture you are interested in purchasing, including height, width and depth. Compare these measurements with the space you have available for each piece.
6. Check Furniture Measurements Against Room Measurements: Compare the measurements of your room with the measurements of the furniture you want to purchase. Make sure that the furniture will fit through all doorways, passages and around any other obstacles in the room.
